    Tuesday 9th January 2018 - Branch Council Meeting - at 2.30 pm at the Chairman's residence.  All Branch Officers are requested to attend please.
  • Saturday 27th January 2018 - Holocaust Memorial Day - to remember the millions of people who have been murdered, or whose lives have been changed beyond recognition, through persecution by despotic regimes, particularly of millions of Jewish and other people, by the Nazis between 1941 - 1945, and others murdered since then in subsequent genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.   • Thursday 4th January 2018 - Death of Col. (retd) Alex K Johnson MBE, TD, Minst RE, DL. It is with great sadness I have to advise our Membership of the passing of our Branch President, Col. Alex Johnson.  He was a proud and active member of our Society and it was a privilege to have known him.  A private funeral was held on Friday, 19th January 2018, followed later by a Service of Remembrance at Colonel Alex's local church.   • Wednesday 28th February 2018 - Annual AGM & Luncheon - Cancelled Due To very Inclement Weather.
  • Wednesday 14th March 2018 - Annual AGM & Luncheon - the re-arranged AGM & Luncheon was held at a Co Durham Hotel commencing at 12.00 (Noon) for a 12.30 pm lunch. The AGM follow lunch. Members are being informed of the result of the AGM.
  • Monday 23rd April 2018 - is St George's Day - our Annual St George's Day Festival Dinner - was celebrated at a Gateshead Hotel at 7.00 pm for a 7.30 pm start. Dress: Formal (black tie & miniatures). Ladies as appropriate. Members were informed of the details.
  • Monday 26th March 2018 - Branch Council Meeting - all Branch Council members are requested to attend.
    VACANCY
    Northumbria Branch RSSG meet twice monthly to discuss and organise our activities throughout the year but at the moment we are struggling because we do not have a Secretary.
    Recently our current Secretary has had to stand-down due to family and other commitments.
    We are seeking a volunteer from our Branch membership to join us on the Branch Council and take over the role of Secretary please.
    You will be joining a small but friendly experienced team, in an important prestigious role.
  • Monday 22nd May 2018 - Branch Council Meeting - all Branch Council members are requested to attend.
  • Wednesday 12th September 2018 - 'Battle of Britain' Commemoration Lunch has been arranged at a north-east restaurant. Details have been circulated by newsletter and all Northumbria Branch members, family & friends are invited. 
  • Saturday 3rd November 2018 - 'War's End' Concert - in aid of the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal , is being held at 7.00 pm in St Mary's & St Cuthbert's Parish Church, Chester-le-Street, Co Durham, to celebrate the end of WW1 and remember those who gave their lives for their country in that war.  The Concert is being presented by the Rotary Club of Chester-le-Street.  Tickets: £8.50 (Adults), £5 (under 16 years).
